People Are Talking About: Eddie Redmayne

24 Jan

You know you know have officially made it when you get a spread in American Vogue, but that’s not 29 year old Eddie Redmayne’s only claim to fame. We, here in the States, probably recognize him from the blockbuster My Week With Marilyn, where Redmayne starred opposite Michelle Williams.

However, Eddie Redmayne is more familiar and more comfortable on the stage in the native country of England. Premiering almost 10 years ago as Viola in a very notable all-male production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Redmayne was a boy who played a girl…posing as a boy. Now, Redmayne can be seen in London portraying the title role of King Richard in Shakespeare’s Richard II, which opened on December 6th at the Donmar Warehouse.

Eddie Redmayne took a short break from preparing for his lastest role to jump over to Ibiza – tough life! Below are some steamy shots of him with the ever-fabulous Karlie Kloss.

Hopefully Mr. Redmayne will be gracing the silver screen very soon!

Models Own Bottleshop

24 Jan

We definitely need something like this in the States… in Boston please, if that’s not too much to ask.

The innovative European cosmetic brand, Models Own, will launch this new bottleshop shopping experience in April in a Westfield London mall opposite Top Shop, Apple, and Zara.

Rather than a typical boring box-shop, Models Own has gone one step further. “At Models Own we like to do things differently”, says Mark Rodol, CEO. “You hear about other brands trying to create ‘immersive shopping experiences’ so we’ve taken this literally by asking people to actually shop in the world’s largest bottle of nail polish!”

While we may be a little jealous, we’re excited about the launch and hey, it’ll give us something to do next time we’re in Westfield.

Kaia Gerber for Young Versace

23 Jan

Who’s that now?

Ten year old Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, is the new face of Young Versace – a first line collection for boys and girls aged from 0-12.

“Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her,” said Donatella Versace, Creative Director of Versace. “Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother’s footsteps!”

The campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and art directed by Giovanni Bianco.  We’re excited to see if Kaia is in it for the long haul… starting a model career with Versace isn’t too shabby.

LV for Life?

19 Dec

Perhaps not for life, but Marc Jacobs says he is staying put! All the fashion world has been abuzz about whether or not Marc Jacobs would be stepping up as the head of Dior. As most know, the ex-designer for Dior, John Galliano, was removed from the label after a… “manic episode”?

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Jacobs, who is the head of both Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, recently explained to Vogue:
There have been on-and-off conversations about Dior. I don’t know; maybe years from now, I may end up going someplace else, maybe Dior. But right now I am at Vuitton, and all that matters to me is that that’s where I am and I’m going to keep doing my thing.”

While we would love to see what Marc would do with Dior, Marc said “I am at Vuitton, and I am very happy there” – We’re happy you’re there too!
