Louis Exposure is back at Louis Boston and we’re amped! Last year we fell in love with Jonathan Simkhai, who even inspired a few “Looks of the Day” and we’re excited to learn about all of the talent that will be making its way through our favorite Waterfront stop.
To start the whole shebang off, New York based jewelry designer Meredith Kahn and clothing designer Victoria Dominguez-Bagu will be on display in the shop this Friday, October 20th. So check it out and let us know what you think!
We hit up the Bushmills Since Way Back Boston Launch event last night at the Beehive and had a blast! We sipped some Bushmills & Ginger, some Bushmills Smash, and some coffee concoction of a Bushmills drink. And we have to say, they definitely know how to throw a party… free drinks, cupcakes, and a photo-booth. Really, what more could you ask for? DJ Nancy Whang set the mood and the Bushmills did the rest. Follow them on Facebook and check out their recipes, they’re definitely a new whiskey favorite. We give it a 10!

After a week of fashion chaos, we finally had to bid Boston Fashion Week adieu. We knew the fun would end, but it didn’t make it any easier. So to soften the blow, the Tent hosted 3 amazing runway shows, including a second showing of consignment items from Second Time Around. It was really cool to see these second hand pieces up on the catwalk. Since shows typically consist of brand new designs, it was fun to see thrift clothing come to life and get a another chance to shine in the spotlight.
Around 9pm this past Tuesday, the Boston Fashion Week Tent was the place to be! Mark Miller, better know by his brand M. Miller, showed a complete line of warming apparel that had some of us looking forward to winter, if only for a few minutes! Quilted, belted, fur trim, zippers, jewel incrusted – the line had just a little bit of everything. Whether you’re going on a ski trip or just headed to a fancy restaurant this winter, a M. Miller piece isn’t optional – its necessary!
Despite some popular opinions about fur, either about the use of it or how it looks, M. Miller made it look right. The luxurious furs were all complimented nicely with the body conscious ski suits also in the line, available in black and gray or something a little more feisty like neon pink and orange.
Here are some looks that have us grabbing our skis already!

While Boston Fashion Week technically kicked off on Friday night, the first full show of the week was Emily Muller – and there couldn’t have been a better way to open! The designers Spring/Summer 2012 line had mix and match pieces to outfit any summer day – you could hit the beach, stroll in the park and even grab a cocktail at the end of the night!
Emily Muller paired simple linens with brown leather straps or detailing. A major plus to the collection was how moveable the cuts were – some items were body conscious while others were draped and free-flowing. As for colors, the natural earth tones all worked together, with a few surprise bursts of color – included a pair of mustard yellow shorts that were a personal favorite! The garments were exquisite, but we cannot disregard the embellishments of the designers own brown strappy heels and the Maxine in Trousers headbands. Gold braids, red feathers, chains – all flawless!

Again, Emily Muller’s show was the best possible way to kick off this years Boston Fashion Week. By the expression on her face, she couldn’t be happier – and neither could we!

Saturday night at Boston Fashion Week, over at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, something great was happening under that large white tent. A great crowd showed up in some awesome outfits and fabulous fashion. The bright lights turned on, the pop music blasted and the opening model for Mike&Ton struts out wearing an ivory ruched epaulette dress with cowl and huge, crimped, teased hair. That set the tone immediately. Each of their models came out with huge hair and attitude. The outfits were a mix of black, ivory, sea blue, paprika, silver and some charcoal. The looks varied from cocktail dresses to gowns and street wear to office attire with my personal favorite being an ivory sleeveless poet top with an ivory and paprika colorblocked skirt. This collection has everything.
As the night progressed, the first show ended and while the models were changing back stage a harpist came onto the runway and entertained. Moments after the harpist finished her piece french music started to play and the first model walks onto the runway. She was wearing a white duchess satin cocktail dress with chiffon overlay, had swooping hair and dramatic yet elegant make up. Each piece that comes out after that has its own entirely unique look while still fitting in with the french theme. This collection was filled with long flowing gowns and some classy skirts. Even thoughsome had the slight possibility of looking like prom dresses, they were all still elegant and well thought out.
Everyone keep on the lookout because these two Boston designers are definitely going places!

Last night at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston a huge crowd of college students lined up outside waiting fora night filled with art and fun. Finally, at 7:20 all the students rushed in, got their free tickets, glow sticks and got lost around this giant museum.Wandering around I expected to see some great new pieces and maybe a few new exhibits but what I didn’t expect was all of awesome outfits that these students were wearing, and trust me, most of these kids weren’t your typical fashionistas! All styles were there, from goth to prep and everywhere in between, and most were not afraid to go all out.
As I walked up and down the line of people waiting for their free Chipotle chips and salsa and their free Pinkberry frozen yogurt, it didn’t take me long to realize that the youth of Boston knows “where its at” when it comes to fashion. After the Pinkberry and Chipotle the crowd moved either upstairs to do some sketches of the very handsome, half naked live model, hula hoop (and listen to the live dj)over in the new American wing of the Museum or went to check out the awesome, new contemporary art wing that opened up this week!
Needless to say, The MFA did a fantastic job and everyone seemed to be having a great time. So to all of you fashionable college kids out there, get your best, most bizarre outfit ready, The MFA and The Boston Bazaar will be waiting!
This probably goes without saying, but Fashion’s Night Out Boston was a huge success! There was so much energy around Newbury; dance music blared out of the store fronts and stylish individuals poured into the streets to enjoy amazing shopping and adorable cocktails, champagne, and bite-sized hors d’oeuvres. Call me a lush, but there is nothing more liberating than walking around Boston with a glass of champagne in your hand.
Anyways, some of the highlights from the evening include a fashion show in the center of Copley Place, a Photo Booth/ Studio 57 Party at Tiffany’s, a karaoke band in Neiman Marcus, and two live DJ’s for the Techno Fashion Event at Saks Fifth Ave. Hopefully you were able to experience it for yourselves, but if not, feel free to live vicariously through the pictures.

Is this Thursday and while we’re figuring out the last minute plans to get to New York for Fashion Week, we’re definitely going to pay homage to our lovely little city. We’ll get to as many events as possible to finally update Bazaar Eye and share the rest of FNO fun-ness.
Let us first shine light on two events we’re really looking forward to!
Tiffany & Co. Copley will be hosting “Studio 57 at Tiffany & Co.”, a reference to a New York City iconic nightlife venue from the 1970’s, and will feature the launch of the Tiffany Era collection. 6-9pm with DJs spinning inspired songs of the 60s and 70s, models, cuisine, and photo booth!
Head on over to All Saints before Tiffanys for a live performance by Bombay Bicycle Club at 6pm.
And for the full calendar…check out FNO Boston.
Looking super cute for FNO? There’s a chance we’ll miss you on the street so SUBMIT your photos!
