Society 6

3 Apr

For all of you avid art lovers out there that are dying to add to their art collection without breaking bank you are going to fall head over heels in love with Society 6. Almost like the Etsy of the art world (ignoring the fact that artists sell on Etsy), Society 6 is a network of thousands of talented artist that post their creative little treats. Society 6 then produces and ships. Artists have the luxury of simply creating and leaving the business to the Society.

You can get anything from prints, stationary cards, iPhone cases, T-shirts, laptop skins… your options are endless.

The best thing about it all. You can get a piece you LOVE for as low as $20 for a mini size and a gallery size (28′ x 38′ for example) for $60.

So get to shopping… or selling. Be sure to send us a link on Facebook or Twitter. We’d love to promote!

Here are some of our favorites – click to go to their shop

Get your photography fix too! They have a ton of pieces to choose from.

Check back  sometime for Asha Isabella’s favorites.

And Then There Was Brownbelle

4 Aug

Founded in 2010, Brownbelle is an accessories brand that Boston can definitely be proud of and we’re so excited to add them to our Guilty Pleasure list! Created by the talented Miss Marima Brownbelle is “a reflection of a wild spirit with classic sophisticated style” with pieces that will definitely fit beautifully into any wardrobe.

We first found out about Brownbelle when we fell in love with this baby…

Check out some more of her pieces on Etsy and follow her on Facebook!

Maybe we can coerce her into doing the next DOLLHOUSE event…who knows.

The Isabella Louis Stories

25 Jun

Isabella Louis has been adding some new pieces to our shop, including an awesome turban print collection accompanying our turban tying tutorial.  You can snag one of these prints from anywhere between $15-$25 and they are honestly one of our favorite summer trends right now…especially after those beach days when you can’t bother to worry about your hair.

But apart from these turbans they are adding a slew of fun pieces and if you head on over to their Chicoptia page they are adding a story to go with each outfit.  According to Asha Isabella (aka me – sue me for writing in the third person) each outfit will have a short story based on a group of four friends just trying to get through the summer, in one piece…friendships intact.  So, they will have short short versions on their Chictopia page and if you are so interested they’ll be adding the full stories on their blog.

So far, they’ve only introduced Veronica in two stories…Follow Isabella Louis on facebook or check out  IsabellaLouis.com for updates on the full story.

Magnetic Nail Polish

15 Jun

Magnetic nail polish has been around for a few years now; however, it is primarily sold in Europe and is very hard to find in the US.

When this nail polish is first applied it appears to be a solid color; but, after holding a special magnet over your nails while they are still wet a design will appear. The two designs to choose from are diagonal lines or a starburst.

If you are looking for a magnetic manicure, Hollywood Nails & Skin Salon located on Newbury Street offers one and best of all if you are a student you can receive a 10% discount by showing your student ID!

George Guest

20 May

George Guest, another one of our Boston pleasures, hosted a launch party and trunk show in Cambridge at the Middlesex on Wednesday to launch their new website and their premier Hillside Backpack.  We tried to make it…but Cambridge parking proves to be more frustrating than Boston traffic 0.O womp! But, nonetheless, we cannot help but share the beautiful craftsmanship that is George Guest.

BAM!

We first experienced George Guest in Boston’s coolest pop-up shop, Concrete Jungle, last summer.  It was like love at first site.  We walked into the shop and our eyes immediately darted to the chicly displayed backpacks decorated on a clean white wall that read George Guest and from that moment on a style infatuation was created.  Followed by instant awe and a little drooling, we learned of the George Keeler/Alex Schultz collabo that is George Guest.

With great pleasure, we’d like to share with you the Hillside Backpack.  Have a gander and indulge in a bit of retail therapy.

Guilty Pleasure – Ragnarok!

11 Apr #boston-brands_Ragnarok-watches

We haven’t been as hyper-local as we want to be… we definitely want to be more involved in the Boston scene so “Guilty Pleasure” is our new category of things we find AWESOME with Boston ties.  The first to break the ice…Ragnarok – we fell in love.

The Dunkxchange went down this past Saturday at The Fourth Wall Project so, of course, we stopped by and one of the most noteworthy vendors has to be Ragnarok clothing.  The MA based line, mostly known for their statement accessories and watches definitely has an array of bright juicy colors that we’re loving this season…

Check them out!
