People Are Talking About: Eddie Redmayne

24 Jan

You know you know have officially made it when you get a spread in American Vogue, but that’s not 29 year old Eddie Redmayne’s only claim to fame. We, here in the States, probably recognize him from the blockbuster My Week With Marilyn, where Redmayne starred opposite Michelle Williams.

However, Eddie Redmayne is more familiar and more comfortable on the stage in the native country of England. Premiering almost 10 years ago as Viola in a very notable all-male production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Redmayne was a boy who played a girl…posing as a boy. Now, Redmayne can be seen in London portraying the title role of King Richard in Shakespeare’s Richard II, which opened on December 6th at the Donmar Warehouse.

Eddie Redmayne took a short break from preparing for his lastest role to jump over to Ibiza – tough life! Below are some steamy shots of him with the ever-fabulous Karlie Kloss.

Hopefully Mr. Redmayne will be gracing the silver screen very soon!

Kaia Gerber for Young Versace

23 Jan

Who’s that now?

Ten year old Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, is the new face of Young Versace – a first line collection for boys and girls aged from 0-12.

“Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her,” said Donatella Versace, Creative Director of Versace. “Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother’s footsteps!”

The campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and art directed by Giovanni Bianco.  We’re excited to see if Kaia is in it for the long haul… starting a model career with Versace isn’t too shabby.

Vashtie Kola’s Violette is back with the relaunch of her website and a new edition to her Violette New York Collection: Rude Boy Yute. This 20 piece collection consists of t-shirts and mid-drifts inspired by the designer’s West Indian Heritage.

Do you have a collection of plastic bags hidden somewhere in your kitchen? If so, Shira Entis and Alex Bell have the solution to your paper and plastic problems! Communicate In Style

11 Oct

Jil Sander’s latest product launch isn’t a fragrance, or handbag, or anything else you’d typically expect from a major fashion house. Instead, the German label partnered with LG to create Jil Sander Mobile. Running on Windows’ new operating system, the cell phone also includes an exclusive app which allows users to get the latest designer updates. It is only available in parts of Europe, so unfortunately we won’t be seeing any of these states-side.

What do you think? Are designer cell phones going to be the next big trend?

Someone To Talk About: Joseph Madeo

29 Sep

New York based designer and illustrator, Joseph Madeo started his career as a carpenter’s apprentice…in Sequim, Washington.  Disappointed with the style that the city had to offer, he taught himself to sew and moved to Seattle to study fashion design after high school.  In 2005, he packed up and hauled to the big city.  Our Joseph Madeo favorite….

There’s something a bit ominous about it and we love it!
