Michael Louis

Michael Louis is a recent graduate from Emmanuel College with a degree in Communications.  He founded The Boston Bazaar with Asha Isabella during his freshmen year in 2007.  Michael Louis also serves as the jewelry and accessories designer for Isabella Louis.

The Boston Bazaar

The Boston Bazaar is a fashion and entertainment source based in Boston and serving the New England area, created and run by college students.  The website is continuously updated with fashion and entertainment news and advice.  We host events, conduct photo shoots, manage models, musicians, and designers.  Our online boutique sells both men and women apparel, accessories, and shoes.  We have a magazine that is distributed in print and made available online with personal subscribers and regular visitors. 

The Story

The company was created by Asha Isabella, Michael Louis, and Nana Yankah and initially served as an online fashion magazine.  The site was created and launched for the first time in May 2007 with very little hits and a simple template.  After complete redesign and reaching out to a college audience The Boston Bazaar received 15,000 hits in its second month.  The site was updated on a monthly basis with new fashion columns and advice, information on local musicians, designers, models, and future expectations of an online boutique.

December 2007, The Boston Bazaar conducted its first photo shoot with new models affiliated with The Boston Bazaar.  The participating models received profiles on the website with photos and biographies.  By January 2008, The Boston Bazaar was planning its first event at the Hard Rock Cafe Boston.  The Boston Bazaar had multiple photo shoots and acquired more models and used the event at the Hard Rock Cafe as a networking opportunity for designers and models to come together.  There was also live music performed by Boston based bands.

In June 2008, The Boston Bazaar officiall launched their online boutique selling women apparel, shoes, and accessories.  The male line was launched in July of ’08.

They hosted their second event, a fashion show, in Springfield, MA at the Sheraton Hotel.  The show was called “Je Suis” with host Fatima Siad of America’s Next Top Model.  The show included models that were a part of their Springfield division.  They casted in Springfield, MA in June and conducted several photo shoots before the show.

During the summer of 2008 The Boston Bazaar published their first magazine.  The main purpose of the magazine was to outline the show and the new models.  The magazine was distributed in the Springfield area and launched online.  700 copies of the magazine were distributed between Springfield and Boston and the online magazine received 2,165 views and an additional 200 views made by subscribers.

The Boston Bazaar continued their search for models, musicians, and designers to work with.  They also began working with aspiring photographers, writers, journalists, etc and began to produce monthly articles updated on the site.  They became interested in assisting students build career portfolios and provide opportunities to gain experience in their prospective career fields.  The Boston Bazaar also conducted a series of photo shoots and small events and had another event in December 2008 in Springfield, a Bazaar Fashion Expo.  The expo included local vendors, photographer Michael Epaul, singer Jasmine Amegan, and jewelry designer Stephanie Benoit.  The night was filled with photos, drinks, music, and refreshments.  The purpose of the event was to bring local indivduals interested in fashion and entertainment together and learn about the opportunities available to them.

In January of 2009 The Boston Bazaar linked up with ADiamond Investment Entertainment, a music agency in Mass.  Most of the musicians The Boston Bazaar links up with are also affiliated with the agency, which aims at providing exposure, performance and tour opportunities to musicians. http://ADiamondLLC.com
